Google India has appointed Rajan Anandan as vice-president, sales and operations, India. Prior to this, he was the managing director at Microsoft India. He will be based out of Gurgaon.
In an official communiqué, the company clarifies, "Shailesh Rao, who has been covering two roles -- that of the managing director, media and platform sales, Japan and Asia and managing director and head of sales, Google India -- will remain in Gurgaon and move full-time to the former role."
Daniel Alegre, president, Japan and Asia-Pacific operations, says, "India is an important growth country for Google. With internet users growing at 50 per cent year-on-year, a strong leadership team will ensure that Google captures this tremendous opportunity."
Anandan has work experience of 18 years. At Microsoft, he looked after the software, OEM and services business in India. He has also worked in Dell (India) as vice-president and country general manager. Before that, he was a partner with McKinsey & Company in Chicago.
