Shetty moves in from Lowe Lintas where he was the head of digital function.
Creativeland Asia has brought on board Satya Shetty as chief implementation officer for its digital operations.
He will report to Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and creative chairperson, Creativeland Asia. Speaking to afaqs! about his immediate mandate at the agency, he says, "It encompasses both taking stock of all the existing accounts on the digital front and actively expanding business in this space."
Shetty moves in from Linteractive, the digital communication wing of Lowe Lintas India, where he served for more than seven years (since 2003). At Lowe, Shetty was associate vice-president; his responsibility was to head the servicing and technical teams.
Shetty brings in more than 10 years of experience in brand communication, software management and digital media.
He is a Physics graduate from Mumbai University and holds an MCA (Masters in Computer Application) degree from Madurai Kamaraj University.
He started his career as an independent software consultant and implemented an ERP for the Railway Protection Force of Konkan Railways. In the recent past, he has worked on providing digital solutions to several major brands such as Nestle India, Unilever, Maruti, JP Morgan Mutual Fund, HDFC Standard Life, NABARD, Bajaj Auto, Croma and Birla Mutual Fund.
Kurup says in a press statement, "Shetty reinforces our digital team and will drive our creative passion across digital media. His mandate will be to ensure that we optimally implement ideas and solutions in the digital space for all our brands."
On his new role, Shetty enthuses, "I'm delighted to be a part of one of the hottest strategic creative solutions companies in Asia. The excitement and passion at Creativeland, to build brands on the strength of its creativity, is what made me take up the challenge."
Shetty's appointment is related to Creativeland Asia's efforts to fortify its digital capabilities. The agency, in the recent past, has showcased its expertise in providing digital solutions for its brands (such as its 'Inventory Tracking through Social Media' innovation on Twitter for Hippo Baked Munchies) and has also created digital case studies. On a related note, it may be recalled that Kurup was invited as the key speaker to present the Hippo case study at TWTRCON, the Twitter Conference in San Francisco earlier this year.
Shetty's appointment is expected to further strengthen the agency's work on the digital front.
