India's leading cryptocurrency exchange WazirX's latest ads try and debunk the myths around buying and trading in cryptocurrency. Often, people have their reservations about trading in the digital currency, with basic questions like where to buy the coins from, what platforms or apps to use, etc.
The WazirX commercials (starring ex-Filtercopy actor Ayush Sharma) aim to debunk some of these questions and portray trading in cryptocurrency as a simple exercise. The two ads are in the context of sportspersons practicing playing football.
In the first ad, two players are seen practicing, kicking the ball back and forth. One asks why football is such a popular sport, to which his friend responds that it is because the sport is easily accessible to anyone who has a ball and space to move it around. They draw parallels to how easy it is to use the app to trade in cryptocurrencies.
While the first ad happens on a one-on-one basis, the second one takes place in a team setting. It is meant to illustrate how easy it is to buy cryptocurrency and how popular it is. In the ad, the protagonist is seen telling his friend that almost everyone on the football team invests in cryptocurrency.
