“India’s first COVID-19 self test kit.” That’s quite a claim in today’s time. It has appeared in a full page print ad on a popular English daily today. The ad is for CoviSelf, a COVID-19 rapid antigen self test kit launched by Maharashtra based biotech company Mylab Discovery Solutions.
The key proposition is convenience and the idea that the kit saves one from the hassle of visiting a testing centre and paying a bulky price.
Priced at Rs 250 each kits contains a swab, test card, prefill extraction tube, disposal bag and a user manual. It allows users to test for COVID-19 antigen in 15 minutes. The kit can be used by 18 years and older individuals themselves or by an adult for individuals between 2-18 years old.
