Former WWE star Dalip Singh Rana, aka, The Great Khali, was recently trolled heavily on the Internet. Interestingly, the trolling here wasn’t the usual hateful kind, often associated with social media.
Fans and social media users went about punning on Khali’s imposing image and physical strength. While someone urged him to just throw NASA’s rocket into space, another user asked him to turn India into Antarctica by covering the country with Dermi Cool talcum powder.
The trend soon picked up pace and netizens started commenting on all posts that had something to do with Khali. While some of the comments were light-hearted, a lot of them also came across as rude. Khali even turned off the comments option on his posts.
Cashback and coupons website CashKaro collaborated with Khali for a fun video about 'how he likes to do everything extra, from eating, workout, to even shopping and saving via CashKaro'. Khali can be seen responding to the trolls and putting down some of the weird comments on his posts.
CashKaro’s riding the trend reminds us of the viral 'Dancing Uncle' from 2018. The 45-year-old 'Dancing Uncle' shot to fame overnight as a video of him setting the stage on fire made rounds on social media. The video drew reactions from thousands, probably lakhs, of awed netizens.
Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance then quickly released a video, featuring the 'Dancing Uncle', while also incorporating the brand’s jingle 'Samjho Ho Gaya'.
