Well, at least that's what the mouth freshener brand seems to claim as part of its ‘Tic Tac share and win’ campaign.
Tic Tac, the breath freshener brand from Ferrero Group, the Italy-based global manufacturer of chocolate and confectionery products, has teamed up with smartphone brand OnePlus to roll out an integrated campaign wherein consumers can ‘share a Tic Tac’ to win a OnePlus 7 handset.
Now, before you start thinking this is tomfoolery at its best, think again. The campaign’s aim is to drive Tic Tac’s proposition of ‘refreshment to be shared’.
Fun fact-the brand draws its inspiration from the increasingly popular trend of sharing anything and everything amongst the millennials with their peeps, from messages, memes, stories, and reactions (read #SharingKaObession).
However, one can't help but wonder about the product plug here as both the brands hail from two completely diverse categories (read a mouth freshener and a Chinese smartphone manufacturer).

Well, this is what a Ferrero India spokesperson had to say, “As a brand, we promote connectivity, which means always being ready and open for spontaneous connections to share the fun. Our collaboration with OnePlus is an effort to help our consumers promote these connections in their life.”
Talking on the association, Vikas Agarwal, general manager of OnePlus India, says, "OnePlus x Tic Tac collaboration is a first-of-its-kind partnership in the industry wherein two highly popular and youth-oriented brands have come together to provide a fresh and engaging experience to our community.”
