Recently, a senior industry professional wrote on a social media platform - 'Can car marketers sell their products without resorting to images of Buddhist monks and the Himalayas?' Or something on those lines.

That's when we decided to attempt a listicle of recent - and some remote - ads that have used shots of Buddhist monks in orange robes and snowy mountains that remind us of Zen philosophy, meditation and peace away from urban chaos.

Prompted by the social media post that led to this idea, first we looked at the automobile segment. But turns out, Buddhism-related imagery is equally popular across product groups. We wonder what led to this trend. There's a lot of anecdotal evidence that Buddhism and Buddhist chanting is gaining popularity among youngsters. But we're sure there's more to it than that.
