And other Bollywood songs that have made brands trend on Twitter.
Tony Kakkar - Neha Kakkar’s brother - released the song Coca Cola Tu in September 2018 and the song went on to garner almost 22 million views on YouTube. Tony collaborated with music producer Tanishk Bagchi to recreate the song for Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi. Today, the song Coca Cola made its debut on and soon after, #CocaCola was trending on Twitter, grabbing quite a few eyeballs. This isn’t the first time a Bollywood song has slow danced with a brand or two.
1. Munni Badnam – Dabangg
Emami sued Dabangg producer Arbaaz Khan for mentioning its product Zandu Balm in an item song starring Malaika Arora, however, things ended a little differently than anticipated. After the song’s release, the product sales rose by nearly 35% in that quarter. They decided to settle the matter out of court and subsequently, Emami even ran ads that starred Arora in different languages.
2. Baby Doll- Ragini MMS 2
It’s unlikely that a song from a horror movie should mention a brand, but it does. The song makes cheeky reference to Zandu balm yet again and in a blink-and-miss reference, a box that reads “Zandu Balm” is briefly held up on the screen. It’s nowhere close to the original packaging or the actual product, but the reference is clear.

3. Fevicol Se- Dabangg 2
Close on the heels of the original movie, Dabangg 2 also featured an item number that prominently featured a brand. This time, they went one step further, using the brand in its title as well. The song features Kareena Kapoor Khan shaking a leg with Salman Khan with some desi beats playing in the background.

4. 'Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai - Khoobsurat
This song by Badshah and Aastha Gill is a peppy dance number that stars Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan. The song makes a fleeting mention of iconic shoe-maker Jimmy Choo (Jimmy Choo ki nok pe rahi duniya saari hai.) The song’s music video has a ‘high street’ feel to it and aims to be light and peppy.
