The brand consulting and strategic design firm DY Works has announced the opening of its first international office in Shanghai today. It will advise Indian and Chinese companies entering each other's markets on strategy.

The New Development Bank, formerly known as the BRICS Bank, is a client of DY Works in Shanghai. The agency won a global pitch over more than six rounds and 16 participating agencies.

Speaking on the development, Alpana Parida, managing director, DY Works, says, "The India-China corridor will see a $1 billion dollar investment this year alone. We have been working in China for the last year, and the opportunities are overwhelming."

Adds, Madhav Sharma, head - Greater China and chief representative, CII China, "The services sector is a growing and focussed sector in China that provides good opportunities for Indian companies. Companies from India are focussing on the Chinese domestic market and Chinese companies are increasingly participating in the India growth story. Branding both at the B2B and B2C levels would play a crucial role. This will build trust and confidence in products and services in both countries. I am sure DY Works will play an important role in bridging this gap between India and China through its presence in Shanghai and Mumbai."

DY Works was recently part of an Indian delegation that addressed 150 businesses in Yangzhou, China, on building brands in India. It has also been invited by the Consul General, Shanghai, to participate in a similar event in Huzhou in November. Parida will address the fifth China-India Cooperation Forum, which is to be held at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). The forum which is jointly organised between the Consulate General of India and CEIBS is sponsored by TATA Sons.

DY Works is an integrated brand consulting and strategic design firm. It is a full-service firm offering branding and design solutions rooted in culture. With a team of over 150 people across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Shanghai, it claims to be the largest branding firm in the country by far.

DY Works recently acquired Idiom, a space design firm, and has been working with Indian and International clients including PepsiCo, General Mills, ITC, Titan, and L&T.
