Verma replaces Malavika Harita of Saatchi & Saatchi Focus Network.
The Advertising Club Bangalore, has elected Sanchayeeta Verma, managing partner, Maxus, South India and South Asia, as its new president. She has taken over the mantle from Malavika Harita of Saatchi & Saatchi Focus Network.
Verma has been associated with the Ad Club since the last three years.
Sonia Serrao from Tata Global Beverages, Akshar Peerbhoy of Maa Communications, and Nidhi Lall of Saatchi & Saatchi Focus Network are the new additions to the managing committee of Ad Club Bangalore.
Commenting about her upcoming plans for Ad Club Bangalore, Verma says, "It has a perfect balance of seasoned thought leaders, with an increasing number of dynamic, young, and fresh talent which I would like to capitalise on through our new initiatives at the Club. We are gearing up for our biggest annual awards night -- The Big Bang Awards -- that recognise the creative excellence in media and communications. We also plan to introduce events which will go beyond work into play and get together all our members. Some of the initiatives in the pipeline include offering incentives to Ad Club members to bring in leading rock bands for 'members-only nights', as well as gaming events to bring out the gamer in each one of us."
Talking about contemporary programmes, Verma states, "I will like to extend Maxus' global initiative 'Walk the Talk', that aims to create a level-playing field for women at work as they climb the corporate ladder. And, we want to roll out Maxus' 'Walk the Talk', a two-day experience to our women Ad Club members sometime soon. We have seen women are less likely to put themselves forward due to various reasons. And, to build a pipeline of female leaders takes time."
Commenting on the appointment, Arvind Kumar, executive director, Ad Club, Bangalore, shares, "The Ad Club will benefit from the vast experience and exposure that (Sanchayeeta) Verma has had as managing partner of South India and South Asia for Maxus Group. Her enthusiasm and energy to increase the Ad Club activities and enhance its image and make it more contemporary will help in making Ad Club, Bangalore, into a very active body in the South."
The registrations for The Big Bang Awards 2016 have started and the last date to submit entries is August 5, 2016. Keeping in mind the changing media scenario, many categories have been added this year, especially in the digital, strategy, and data spaces.
Verma began her career with the TTK group in 1994. She brings with her more than 22 years of experience in advertising, marketing, media, and communications while having worked across various industry sectors. The Ad Club, Bangalore holds a variety of events right from sports tournaments, advertising and creative quizzes, to panel discussions.
