She will report to Ashish Mishra, managing director, Interbrand India.
Interbrand India has announced the appointment of Deepali Shirali as creative director. In her new role, she will report to Ashish Mishra, managing director, Interbrand India. Shirali joins Interbrand India from Design Sutra, the design arm of Contract Advertising. Prior to that, she has worked with Fitch India, Channel V, and dCELL, a division of Lowe Lintas India.
Shirali brings with her more than 20 years of design experience across various disciplines that range from packaging design to branding and retail identity.
Welcoming Shirali aboard, Mishra says, "We are in India to help the 'best Indian brands' graduate to the 'best global brands' stature. In a short span of three years, we have already identified the most valuable Indian brands through our local league table and built relationships with about half the top 30 Indian brands. A majority of our engagements, as well as our reputation so far have been in the realm of brand strategy and valuation. We are now keen to emphasise our global capabilities in the design space. In Shirali, we found a partner who has the right balance of the business acumen and the design experience."
Talking about her new beginning at Interbrand India, Shirali says, "Interbrand seemed like a very good fit, right from my very first meeting with Mishra. It's the beginning of not just a new chapter, but a new book in my life."
Shirali's vast repertoire of work spans across varied categories and brands such as Cadbury, The Tata Group, ITC, Britannia, Unilever India, Godfrey Phillips India, The Essar Group, Ashok Leyland, and The Sahara Group. She has also handled various projects for South-east Asia and North Africa, as well as for the Middle-East and Turkey (NAMET) region. She is an alumnus of Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai, and has specialised in Applied Art.
