In a recent announcement, Adfest has named Josy Paul, chairman and chief creative officer, BBDO India, as president for the Media Lotus and Branded Content and Entertainment Lotus juries for Adfest 2016. The event will take place during March 16-19 at Pattaya, Thailand.
In addition to being named as president for the Media Lotus and Branded Content and Entertainment Lotus juries for Adfest 2016, Paul will also be jury member for the Integrated Lotus, Innova Lotus and Lotus Roots categories.
Besides Paul, other Indian jurors for Adfest 2016 include Dinesh Swamy, senior creative director, Razorfish, for the Interactive Lotus and Mobile Lotus categories, while Manoj Tapadia, film director, creative director and lyricist, Offroad Films, will represent India as a judge in the Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus categories. Anu Joseph, executive creative director, Creativeland Asia, has been named as the Indian juror for Promo Lotus and Effective Lotus categories.
Commenting on the announcement, Paul says, "It is a huge privilege to be selected to lead this prestigious jury, and work alongside the industry's most respected and awarded creatives. There are agencies in Asia and the Middle-East that lead the world when it comes to producing brave, impactful media concepts and branded content. I live by the mantra 'Think like the navy, deliver like pirates', which means I'll look for work that is both strategic and powerfully executed. It's going to be a lot of fun debating the industry's best ideas."
Commenting on Paul's selection as president, Adfest president Jimmy Lam, says, "Paul has led the way in India as a creative professional who is determined to make the world a better place through impactful branded content and creativity. It will be an honour to welcome him to Thailand in March."

Before founding BBDO India, Paul was the national creative director at JWT. In 2000, he also created and set up an agency called David for Ogilvy.
