The account was won following a multi-agency pitch.
Cheil India has won the integrated creative duties of Inshorts, a mobile app founded by Azhar Iqubal and Anunay Arunav of IIT Delhi and Deepit Purkayastha of IIT Kharagpur, in 2013, that provides top news stories of the day in 60 words. The account was won following a multi-agency pitch. As part of the win, Cheil's mandate would entail handling the creative duties for above the line (ATL) communication as well as the digital duties for Inshorts.
The app, which is getting popular among youth, has already received more than one million downloads on Android and iOS. It is expected to cross five million downloads soon.
Commenting on the win, Kundan Joshee, senior vice president, Cheil India, says, "We are extremely delighted about working on Inshorts. We are looking forward to work together and create powerful integrated ideas that would build the brand. Both the teams believe in integration, and we think that there can't be a better ground for a partnership to start."
Commenting on awarding the business to Cheil India, Deepit Purkayastha, co-founder, Inshorts, adds, "We are elated to have partnered Cheil to build the brand Inshorts. We are looking forward to see some exciting work being created out of this partnership."
