JWT's Roop Ghosh joins Genesis Advertising as branch head, Kolkata

The news comes just a month after JWT's Tania Sinha joined the agency as client servicing head.

Genesis Advertising, Kolkata, has appointed Roop Ghosh as branch head. Ghosh was formerly AVP and client services director at JWT. This news follows close on the heels of Tania Sinha joining Genesis as head, client servicing.

Genesis Advertising was in the news recently when former Rediffusion COO, Amitava Sinha, joined as Group CEO.

Ghosh brings with him 15 years of experience in the industry. He has worked in several large network agencies such as Grey, Mudra, Rediffusion Y&R, Ogilvy and JWT. As associate vice president and client services director at JWT, Ghosh has led several large businesses such as ITC, Berger and The Telegraph. Some of the other major accounts he has handled in the course of his career include Airtel, Vodafone, Eveready, Tata Steel and Dey's Medical.

On his appointment, Sinha, CEO, Genesis Advertising, says, "We have just moved to a swanky new office. With Roop and Tania coming on board, our core team is now in place. We should shortly be able to share some exciting new business wins. Suffice it to say, Genesis is all set to rock the Kolkata market to begin with, though our ambitions are pan-India."

Tania Sinha joined Genesis last month after a four year stint at JWT Kolkata as client services director. Prior to that, Sinha had worked with organisations such as Ogilvy & Mather in Delhi , Rediffusion Y&R Kolkata and Airtime Marketing & Sales India (Power & Amar FM).

Founded in 1993, Genesis is a Kolkata-based agency with offices in Mumbai and Delhi as well. The group also has a robust exhibitions business.
