Bates CHI&Partners has named PK Anil Kumar as its executive creative director and Mumbai creative head. He commenced his new role a few days ago.
Kumar has around 19 years of work experience that spans across agencies such as RK Swamy BBDO, McCann Erickson, Triton and Minority. He has worked on brands such as Nerolac, Onida, Mastercard, Nestle, Opel Corsa, Bacardi, Marico, The Mobile Store, Cathay Pacific, Aquaguard, Fortune Oil, Zingaro, Reliance Cement, PSI and Meru Cabs, among several others.
Commenting on his appointment, Kumar says, "At Bates, I'm glad to be part of a young, dynamic team that not only thinks of solutions for brands, but also partners with the clients to build lasting relationships, through a collaborative approach. I look forward to doing some memorable advertising, especially in the digital space, which is going to be foremost on the agenda."
Commenting on the new hire, Manmohan Anchan (aka Mac), chief creative officer, Bates CHI&Partners India, adds, ''We are delighted to have PK on board. He is a confluence of new-age thinking (read: digital, experiential) and very powerful emotional thinking.'
Furthermore, Asheesh Malhotra, Mumbai office head, Bates CHI&Partners, says, ''We took a while to find the right partner and creative leader for the Mumbai office. Our search ended with PK who carries along with him humble rootedness, which is so rare today. He has a very fertile mind that churns ideas on the go."
VS Srikanth, CEO, Bates CHI&Partners India, says, ''Many don't know, but PK is a Mallu by birth, but a Ghalib at heart. His armed forces background took him all over the country, where he picked up many languages and cultural nuances. His rich upbringing and diverse experiences reflect in the work he has done so far; great to have him on the team."
Bates CHI&Partners claims to be Asia's newest network startup. Formed in December 2012, this partnership brings together Bates - an Asia top ten agency by revenue which claims to have 14 offices in nine countries across Asia - and CHI, UK's most awarded independent agency at Cannes.
