Upasana Roy joins the agency as head, strategy, and Adityan Kayalakal as head, key accounts.
Publicis Groupe-owned global marketing and technology agency DigitasLBi has appointed Upasana Roy as head of strategy and Adityan Kayalakal as head, key accounts. They will be reporting to managing director, Amaresh Godbole.
Speaking on the appointments, Godbole says, "I am absolutely delighted with the addition of these two brilliant stars in our team. Upasana's strategy grounding is the Holy Grail for new-age marketing - an ex-Googler with mainline and digital strategy experience, we are looking at her to chart the transformation roadmap for our clients and lead the thought leadership agenda. Adityan has an incredibly unique blend of agency and content experience, which is just the right mix to unlock growth for brands in the content marketing age. We are looking at him to guide our key clients and open up new relationships by devising the most culturally relevant solutions for brands."
Says Roy on her new role, "My goal is to further hone the core competencies we have shaped over the last few years, and find ways to use our greatest strengths more effectively. I am particularly interested in growing DigitasLBi's footprint across the country in terms of producing more clutter-breaking content, driving social e-commerce and data driven creativity."
Kayalakal has close to a decade of cross-category experience, providing advertising and content marketing solutions for brands such as Tata Motors, Unilever, Amazon, Virgin Mobile, Skoda, Kingfisher Airlines, ESPN, UNICEF and Housing, to name a few.
On his appointment, he comments, "I've always believed that good storytelling lies at the heart of great advertising. At DigitasLBi, I hope to play a critical role in transforming how clients use digital by helping them combine great storytelling with the latest technology to create hybrid communication solutions."
Prior to this, Roy was a planning director at Ogilvy, while Kayalakal was AVP and business director - content at The 120 Media Collective.
