He joins the agency from chlorophyll.
Interbrand India has appointed Ashoo Advani associate director, brand strategy. Based out of Mumbai, he will work closely with agency's managing director, Ashish Mishra on the agency's client roster. He joins Interbrand from chlorophyll where he was senior brand planner.
Speaking on the appointment, Mishra says, "We want the select few who can do justice to our reputation; the ones who can be trusted with transformational value creation through brands and are valued for it too." Advani comes with over a decade's experience in brand communications and strategy development. He has worked with leading brands, across categories ranging from automobile, retail and realty and has worked on large-scale brands such as Asian Paints, Royal Challenge, Director's Special, Edelweiss Tokyo Life Insurance, CK Birla Group, Mahindra Two Wheelers and Tata Motors.
On his new role, Advani states, "Since my B-school days, brand valuation has been an area of interest. It is the ultimate metric for any brand and there is no organisation in the world that comes close to Interbrand in brand valuation expertise. I am excited about learning and using the global best practices of managing brands."
Prior to chlorophyll, Advani was associated with Ogilvy & Mather where he exclusively worked with Asian Paints and managed development of communication for 22 different product brands. He has also worked with Lowe earlier in his career.
He is also associated with Xavier Institute of Communications as a guest faculty member for corporate and product branding. He is fond of biking, travelling and photography.
