Lulla is moving to Grey after a nine-year stint at the Times Group.
Sunil Lulla, erstwhile president, corporate development, Bennett, Coleman and Co (BCCL), is set to join Grey India. At Grey, Lulla will be replacing its India president and CEO, Jishnu Sen. He will report to Nirvik Singh, Grey Group's chairman and CEO - Asia Pacific.
Lulla is no stranger to advertising or agencies. He had started his career with JWT, Mumbai in 1985 as associate account director. He worked with the agency for six years before he decided to quit but returned in 1994 and left again to get into the broadcast business. He has held senior positions at JWT in India, China and Taiwan.
Sen, who joined Grey in 2007 as the head of its Mumbai office, is on his way out. His next venture is yet known. Within two years of his joining Grey India, Sen was promoted to the post of chief operating officer. In 2011, he was made India president and CEO.
Lulla has more than 26 years of experience in marketing and general management. Prior to joining Times, he had also worked with Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India as executive vice-president. Some of the other organisations he has worked with include Valuebridge, a consultancy business set up by venture capital firm AtIndia, United Distillers & Vintners, MTV India and Indya.com.
Sen, who has 23 years of experience in the advertising industry, was regional client servicing director on the Colgate-Palmolive business with Y&R New York. He has held several positions in JWT and Rediffusion-Y&R in India, Singapore, Hong Kong and the US. Sen has also worked on a host of brands such as Colgate, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, ESPN-STAR Sports and the Indian Army.
