In a multi-agency pitch, Videocon has handed over the creative duties of its telecom, flat panel television and mobile handset business to Rediffusion Y&R. The account is pegged at Rs 150 crore.
The incumbent agency on Videocon's mobile handset business is McCann World Group's TAG, while the flat panel television and telecom business was taken care of by JWT. The account will be managed by the agency's Delhi office.
Speaking on the account win, Amitava Sinha, COO, Rediffusion Y&R, says, "It has been a great year for the Rediffusion Delhi office. We have won some interesting business and getting Videocon's future looking businesses of telecom, flat panel television and handsets is great. We have put in a lot of effort behind the Delhi office and since the beginning of the year, we have already tripled our size."
The other businesses that are handled by the Delhi office of the agency include Biba Fashion, Virgin Atlantic (outbound business), Shilpi Cable Technologies, SBS Biotech and others.

The campaigns for these three verticals will be rolled out soon; Sinha mentions that the ads will attempt to break the clutter in these categories.
Videocon businesses are spread across different verticals such as mobile handsets, mobile services, consumer electronics and home appliances, DTH services, real estate and others.
