Aditya Jaishankar joins Percept/H as national planning head

Jaishankar's mandate is to strengthen the planning strategy of the agency and chase new businesses across existing as well as new clients.

Percept/H has been witnessing senior level restructuring in the recent past, with Amitava Mitra being promoted as CEO and Jiten Bhagat joining as COO. Now, Aditya Jaishankar has been appointed national planning head at the agency. He will report to Mitra. Jaishankar was earlier associated with JWT Mumbai as vice-president, planning.

Speaking to afaqs!, Jaishankar says, "My mandate is to strengthen the planning strategy of the agency and chase new businesses across existing as well as new clients."

With about 15 years of experience, Jaishankar started his career in planning at Rediffusion. He worked in client servicing for the initial few years of his career and later moved to qualitative research at Drshti.

He has also been associated with Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai as senior planning director. In this profile he handled diverse clients such as Tata Sky, IPL, Tata Motors, VIP luggage portfolio and CEAT tyres. He then moved to JWT Mumbai, where he handled brands across categories, including Smirnoff, Good Knight, Frooti, Tata Sky, IPL and Castrol (India and global). He has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi as director, planning for two years. He was also associated with STAR TV as communication planner.

A prolific writer, Jaishankar has authored 'Beyond the comfort zone', a book about the tears, fears and cheers in the life of a single migrant.
