Propaganda India has appointed Manoj Jacob as creative director.

He moves to the agency after spending a little more than three years at Meridian Communications, Ogilvy's sister concern and a part of WPP.

Based in Bengaluru, Jacob will report to the agency's co-founder and business director, Priya Jayaraman and its co-founder and creative director, Venkatesh Nadhan.

On joining Propaganda from Ogilvy, Jacob says, "I made the shift because it's clear that online and social media are at the centre of today's advertising world. And Propaganda has the right DNA, the right scale and the right client base to define my foray into new media. Although my roots were set in a large traditional agency, I think I'll be comfortable in the new media space."

Jacob brings with him more than 15 years of experience, with 13 years in advertising. After a brief stint at marketing, he stumbled into advertising as a copywriter at Bengaluru's Graphic Arts Industry before joining Contract Advertising as a creative consultant.

After three years, in 2004, he joined Disha Communications (Bengaluru) as copy supervisor. Three years later, Ogilvy happened. He joined the agency as copy supervisor and worked his way up to become an associate creative director at its Bengaluru branch.

In 2009 he joined Euro RSCG, Delhi as creative director and then headed back to Bengaluru to head Soho Square (a WPP agency).

Jacob has worked on diverse brands such as Himalaya Healthcare, IBM, Lenovo, Nilgiri's Supermarket, Foster's, Haywards, Peroni, Fortune Cooking Oil, AMD, Shell, Max NewYork Life, C. Krishniah Chetty and Sons, Louis Philippe, Dettol, Lizol and Mortein.

For the record, Propaganda India is a 360 degree digital agency based in Bengaluru working on digital and social mandates of clients like Amazon India, HDFC Bank, Google India, Oberoi Hotels and many other brands. An independent digital agency founded and headed by Jayaraman and Nadhan, its mandate is to 'build brands online'.
