Percept promotes Prabhakar Mundkur as director, business strategy

In 2013, Mundkur was promoted as executive director on the board of Percept/H.

Effective April 1, Prabhakar Mundkur has been promoted as director, business strategy, Percept Limited. He is now responsible for providing strategic direction, creating opportunities for integration and paving the roadmap for the overall businesses under the Percept group.

His mandate includes working closely with the CXOs of the various businesses across Percept to identify and leverage strategic business and synergy opportunities to herald the next growth phase for Percept in the entertainment, media and communications domain.

Mundkur joined Percept/H as COO in January, 2005 and was promoted as CEO in 2011. He was appointed executive director on the board of Percept/H in 2013.

He played a pivotal role in spearheading the agency's growth over the past nine years with business wins that included Canon, Toyota, SBI Mutual Funds, Olympus, Force India, Fedex, Carlsberg, Indian Oil, Zee Digital and a host of other blue chip businesses.

Mundkur says, "I have been part of the Percept family for a long time and have been an integral part of its successful growth story. I have witnessed quantum leaps in our business with path breaking concepts and ideas that became talk points of the communications industry. I hope to further upscale our strengths and streamline our synergies across the Percept group to create unparalleled value to our stakeholders going forward."

Amitava Mitra, COO, Percept/H will take over the strategic and operational responsibilities of Percept/H from Mundkur. With his vast expertise in the 360-degree communications arena, Mitra will offer a wealth of ideas, knowledge and experience which will help take Percept/H to the next level.

Mundkur recently announced about his strategy and training shop MindOverMatter which he will pursue in his extra time with clients that do not have any conflict of interest with Percept. It will provide training to clients on branding and strategy. Mundkur has a strong interest and inclination towards training and expresses a desire to pursue it.

Before joining Percept, Mundkur has worked with Everest Advertising, Y&R, Euro RSCG, JWT South Africa, Scanad Advertising, JWT Bangalore and JWT Mumbai.
