Since February 2013, the brand has been working with creative shops on a project basis.
Fashion e-commerce firm Myntra.com has appointed Lowe Lintas as its communications partner to handle its creative duties.
In February 2013, afaqs! had reported that the brand was looking for a creative partner. Since then, it has been working with creative shops on a project basis and hence there was no incumbent agency before it roped in Lowe Lintas.
Earlier, the creative duties for the brand were with Taproot India. Before Taproot, Happy Creative Services has handled the account.
Speaking on the development, Vikas Ahuja, chief marketing officer, Myntra, says, "Lowe's work speaks for itself - with strong examples of engaging, clutter-breaking communication campaigns across industries. The team brings great chemistry and zest for success and we are delighted to have them on board as our partners, to take brand Myntra to greater heights."
For Lowe Lintas, Myntra comes as a significant addition to its already existing roster of leading clients in South India, which includes Tanishq, Britannia, Sonata, Fastrack, MRF, Daimler Benz, Bharat Matrimony, Future Group, Flying Machine and Tata Tea.
G V Krishnan, executive director, Lowe Lintas, says, "E-commerce is the category of the future and is growing at a phenomenal pace. What excites us about Myntra is its vision and leadership in the fashion category. We are delighted to partner and meet its ambition to be a billion dollar business in two years. We wish to create fandom for Myntra and make the brand endearing, aspirational and yet inclusive to all its consumers."
Joseph George, CEO, Lowe Lintas sums it up, saying that both, Myntra as a company and the category it operates in, are future-facing. "They are a great bunch of guys and we're absolutely thrilled to partner with them in their journey," he adds.
In July 2013, Myntra.com appointed Ahuja as CMO. Earlier, Ahuja was country business manager at Nestle India.
