Grey's Malvika Mehra and Agnello Dias from Taproot India are part of the Content and Contact/Integrated campaign/Innovative and Film categories, respectively. This is Dias' second year as a jury member of the Film category.
In the 55th edition of Clio Awards, two Indian ad veterans have been chosen in the jury panel. Malvika Mehra, national creative director, Grey Worldwide, and Agnello Dias, chief creative officer and co-founder, Taproot India, are part of the jury panel that will select the best advertising works in Clio Awards' 13 categories. For Dias, this is the second consecutive year he has been picked for the jury duty and that too, for the same category.
Mehra is part of the Content & Contact/Integrated campaign/Innovation category, which is headed by Pablo Del Campo, president and CEO, Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi, Argentina and Spain.
Meanwhile, Dias, one of the nine panellists, will judge the Film category. This category is chaired by Anne De Maupeou, chief creative officer, Marcel, France.
It may be noted that the jury members for three categories - Audio/Audio technique, Film Technique and Public Relations - are yet to be announced.
Interestingly, 2013 saw four Indians making it to the Clio Awards jury. Besides Taproot's Dias, BBDO's Josy Paul was selected for Content & Contact/Integrated campaign/Innovation category. E Suresh, director at Studio Eeksaurus Production was part of the Film Technique - Animation and Visual Effects (VFX) jury, while Prasoon Pandey of Corcoise Films was one of the judges for Film Technique - Direction and Cinematography category.
The year before that, five Indians were part of Clio Awards jury.
Clio Awards was formed in 1959 and intended to recognise the works of American advertising. However, by its sixth year, it was thrown open to international advertising works as well. Today, USA comprises mere 31 per cent of the total number of entries for the awards.
