Besides leading the agency's North and South operations, Srivastava was also chairman of the Bengaluru-based Ogilvy Worldwide Office (Hub).
Prateek Srivastava, president, North and South, Ogilvy & Mather India, has put in his papers. While Srivastava confirmed the news, he did not reveal his next move. "I am still mulling options at the moment. I have had a great time at Ogilvy but in the last few months, I have had this desire to do something on my own," he says.
Currently serving his notice period, Srivastava will be relieved by the end of June or by early July. It is not certain who will replace Srivastava.
Besides leading the agency's North and South operations, Srivastava was also chairman of the Bengaluru-based Ogilvy Worldwide Office (Hub) set up in 2007, which caters to clients outside India and creates communication campaigns for the non-Indian market. In the same year, he was also made member of the Ogilvy India board.
Srivastava joined Ogilvy in December, 2000. He has worked on a plethora of brands, some of the prominent ones being KFC, Philips, Sprite and Fanta from Delhi; and Titan, Allen Solly, IBM, Lenovo and ITC Foods from Bengaluru.
Reminiscing about his experiences at the agency, Srivastava says, "For me, working with such a bunch of talented people was a great opportunity as well as pleasure. Setting up of the international hub (Ogilvy Worldwide Office) was a big challenge, as was handling the completely different markets of North and South."
Srivastava, an IIM-A alumnus, began his career in advertising at Clarion in 1987. Before joining Ogilvy, he was with Lowe Lintas Indonesia, where he headed the Unilever business. He was also with Mudra Communications (now DDB Mudra) as branch director from 1990 to 1994.
