McCann and XOX Design won maximum Golds in Design. McCann and Publicis won a Gold each in Direct. And Hungama Digital got maximum Golds in Digital.
Ahead of the main Abby Awards, the Goafest authorities offered a peek into the creative results by announcing the winners across three categories, namely, Design, Digital and Direct.
Here are the highlights for Design: Overall, 43 awards were given in this category. Of these only seven were Gold. Agencies that won maximum Golds include McCann Worldgroup and XOX Design; each bagged three Golds this time. McCann's Golds were pulled in by its work for the brands Young President's Organisation and Dish TV. For the latter, the agency won two Golds in different sub-categories, namely Posters and Craft in design. XOX Design owes its Golds to the work it churned out for Kyoorius.
Leo Burnett was awarded one Gold in this category for its Coke Studio campaign. Besides this Gold, the agency bagged four Silvers and one Bronze too, taking its overall Design tally to six.
JWT's Design tally is also six, of which two are Silver and four are Bronze awards. DDB Mudra Group, Bang In The Middle, Dentsu India and Grey Worldwide won a Silver each. Hyphen and Open Strategy and Design also won a Silver each.
Publicis Communications got a Silver and a Bronze, Taproot India and Umbrella Design got three Bronze awards each and Creativeland Asia got two Bronze awards. Like Creativeland Asia, Happy also got two Bronzes. ideas@work won a Silver and a couple of Bronze awards.
Moving on to Direct: In this category, a total of 15 awards were given away. Of these, there are only two Golds. These Golds were won by Publicis (Park Avenue Beer Shampoo) and McCann (Big CBS Spark). While this Gold was Publicis' only award in this category, McCann walked away with some more; the agency got two Silver and two Bronze awards as well.
Further, Taproot got one Silver and two Bronze awards in Direct and Creativeland Asia got one Silver. JWT won three Bronzes while BBDO Proximity and Leo Burnett Solutions went home with just one Bronze each.
Lastly, here are the highlights for Digital: The total tally for Digital is 46 awards.
This category has a Grand Prix unlike Design and Direct. The Digital Grand Prix this year went to Interface Business Solution for its CRM-powered personalised web banner for Tata Docomo. Besides this glory, Interface Business Solution also won a Bronze for the same brand (Hyper-personalisation- CRM communication on social media).
Four Golds were given away in Digital. These were won by Hungama Digital (two), BC Web Wise (one) and Thmbstrk (one). Eleven Silvers were given away in Digital. The rest were Bronze.
