Adfest 2013: Taproot tops with 11 metals, McCann follows with six

Leo Burnett India stood third with three metals, while Grey Worldwide India, DDB Mudra Group, BBDO, Bang Bang Films and Contract Advertising won two metals each.

At Adfest 2013, Indian agencies won a total of 34 awards, of which 11 were bagged by Taproot India, Mumbai, along with the Agency of the year award. Following this, McCann Worldgroup India won six metals.

Leo Burnett India could lay its hands on three metals, while Grey Worldwide India, DDB Mudra Group India and BBDO won two awards each. Bang Bang Films also grabbed two metals, but for the same campaign,
IPL-Carnival
for BCCI in Films (Bronze) and Film Craft (Silver) categories. Contract Advertising also won a silver each for Morphy Richards-Corruption campaign for Morphy Richards Juicers in Film Lotus category and Film Craft Category.

Scarecrow Communications, Corcoise Films and WebChutney won one award each.

The only gold registered by India was for the I am Mumbai campaign by Taproot India for Mumbai Mirror. The agency also grabbed a Grande Lotus Roots for the campaign.

Interestingly, all the three Lotus Roots awards were grabbed by the Indian campaigns, Taproot won a Grande Lotus Roots, while Taproot and McCann achieved Lotus Roots for the Abused Goddess and Bindi/Aarti campaigns, respectively.

Of Taproot's 11, one is a gold, two are silvers and six are bronze metals. Apart from this, the agency won a Grande Lotus Roots and a Lotus Roots too. As for McCann, it was awarded with four silvers, one bronze and one Lotus Roots. Leo Burnett, however, won three bronze metals.

Taproot's Abused Goddess campaign helped the agency bag a silver (Print Craft Lotus) and a bronze (Press Lotus), apart from the Lotus Roots. The agency also won another silver for Times Classified's Visual Classified campaign in the Press Lotus Category. Taproot India won five bronzes, each for Fox Movie Subtitles (Film Lotus), Recycled CD's for Rolling Stones (Outdoor Lotus), Donate More for Red Cross (Design Lotus), Country Side Bar/ Fish Market/ Toilet for Nima Bartan (Print Craft Lotus) and Face1/Face2/Face3 for Prayas Bharati Trust (Print Craft Lotus) campaigns.

Apart from the Lotus Roots, McCann Worldwide Group got four silver metals for the campaigns Bindi/ Arti for Yatra.com (Film Lotus), Franklin Gandhi/ Queen Mao/ Lincoln Fahd for Western Union (2 sub-categories of Outdoor Lotus) and God for ATSS (Print Craft Lotus). Another Bronze was won by the agency for Hands can't be trusted-Housewife/ Scientist (Videocon Mobile) in the Press Lotus category.

Leo Burnett India was recognised with three bronzes for their works, Girl Child TVC for Kaun Banega Crorepati (Film Craft), Toothpaste/ Diaper radio ads for Reliance Digital TV (Radio Lotus) and Camouflage Toilets and Kitchen for Bajaj Exhaust Fans (Print Craft Lotus).

Grey Worldwide India won two silvers, one each for Strip the Summer and Green Fold campaigns for Killer Jeans in the Design Category (within two sub-categories). DDB Mudra Group was awarded with a bronze each for JFK/Elvis/Rosewell campaign for Paper Shredder (Outdoor Lotus) and Horn/Bell/Duck campaign for Volkswagen Passat in Press Lotus category.

BBDO won an Effective Lotus for its You Shave, I shave campaign for Gillette, along with a silver for The pissing Letter campaign for Diastix in Direct Lotus Category.

Scarecrow Communications won a bronze for Mrs Pinto TVC for Panasonic SmooSpeak Video Door Phone in Film Lotus Category. The Harmonium Love campaign for Mohan Music Palace, Delhi got Webchutney a bronze in the Interactive Lotus Category.

Corcoise Films was awarded with a Silver in the Film Craft Lotus Category for its Giving is Magic campaign for ICICI Bank.

Few categories where none of the Indian agencies won awards were Promo Lotus, Integrated Lotus, New Director Lotus, Innnova Lotus, Grande for Humanity (single award, won by Leo Burnett Melbourne) and Mobile Lotus.

Network of the year for 2013 was awarded to Leo Burnett.

The award function took place between 17 - 19th March 2013 in Pattaya, Thailand.
