Interpublic Group's Lowe Lintas & Partners has retained the national creative mandate for Apollo Hospitals. This is the second year that the account will be handled by the agency's Chennai office and will cover all of Apollo's healthcare verticals, barring insurance.

According to sources, the win comes after a multi agency pitch called by the healthcare chain. Lowe Lintas will be responsible for integrating national initiatives with regional ones, so that brand Apollo is able to present a unified front in terms of communication. The national creative campaigns will primarily use a lot of TV and digital media.

Apollo Hospitals is one of India's leaders in healthcare and according to the agency, the challenge will be to build on this significant equity and help make the brand ready for a new era of competition. The agency has already executed a campaign for oncology-related robotic surgery and the campaign is currently running in key markets.

Apollo Hospitals started operations in 1983 as a 150-bed hospital. Today, the group operates over 8,500 beds across 50 hospitals in India and overseas. In January 2013, Apollo Hospitals consolidated its entire media duties with Mindshare. Earlier, the Apollo Hospitals account was handled by DDB Mudra Max and the company was working with local agencies in other markets.

In 2012, Lowe Lintas Chennai had picked up the creative mandates of Daimler-Benz and Amrutanjan. The agency also plans to invest significantly to strengthen its manpower and infrastructure.
