Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and creative director, South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather India, has added another feather in his already fluffy cap. The Berlin School of Creative Leadership has announced the 'Piyush Pandey Creative Leadership Scholarship', a special scholarship established in the honour of, as the authorities call him, an "Indian Ad Guru". The development marks Pandey's long-standing service and support of the Berlin School.

The scholarship will provide full tuition support for a top creative executive from India to participate in the Berlin School's prestigious part-time global EMBA programme starting in March, 2013.

Recently, Pandey served as Berlin School EMBA class' 'Godfather' (for the record, Pandey dislikes this title!), wherein he attended select programme modules and served as 'honorary industry mentor' to senior creative executives from around the world.

Previous 'Godfathers' at the Berlin School include creative authorities such as DDB Worldwide's Keith Reinhard, Sire Records' Seymour Stein and BBH's Sir John Hegarty.

Sheridan Johns, director, Berlin School of Creative Leadership, says in an official communiqué, "We are thrilled to honour Piyush Pandey in this way and equally excited that in doing so, the Berlin School is able to help support leadership in the creative industries in India."

"It is not enough to source talent to be successful in today's creative industries. One has to nurture, encourage and develop creative talent on an on-going basis, by emphasising the importance of leadership as a key differentiator in driving creative excellence. The Berlin School offers tremendous value and inspiration to creative companies as well as their clients," says Pandey.

Eligibility criteria require candidates to have completed a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and have a minimum of five years of relevant professional leadership experience in the creative industries. Candidates must be of Indian decent and currently residing in India.

The applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the Berlin School, including Pandey. The winner will be will chosen based on the strength of his or her personal statement as listed in the EMBA application form, as well as his or her overall professional profile.

The scholarship covers 53,000 Euros in programme tuition. It is not transferable and cannot be paid out in cash. The scholarship does not cover programme travel and accommodation costs.

The application deadline is November 15. The winner will be announced on December 1, 2012. The programme will start on March 10, 2013 in Berlin.
