Khan joins the agency from Lowe Lintas, Bengaluru where he was senior vice-president; he will head TBWA's Mumbai operations.
Close on the heels of announcing the appointment of Subho Sengupta as executive vice-president and head of its Delhi branch, TBWAIndia has made yet another senior appointment, albeit in Mumbai this time.
The agency has appointed Aejaz Khan as executive vice-president. Khan will head TBWA's operations in Mumbai.
Immediately before TBWA, Khan worked as senior vice-president at Lowe Lintas in Bengaluru. At Lowe, Khan was responsible for Tata Group brands such as Fastrack, Titan Sonata, Tanishq and Tata Tea.
Calling it a "fantastic new chapter" in his life and career, Khan says in a press statement, "TBWA is known for its great people who care about big ideas. The network has a deep creative culture with disruption at the core of its DNA. I will chase fame, fun and fortune for the agency and its brands."
Nirmalya Sen, managing director, TBWAIndia, says, "Khan is a rich reservoir of experience and knowledge of Indian and global brands alike. This will be invaluable as he comes on board to lead an office that works with some large global brands on the one hand and several Indian majors on the other."
Armed with 19 years of experience in advertising, Khan has held senior executive level positions at multinational agencies in India, North Africa and West Asia. Through his career, he has worked on brands such as Vaseline, HSBC, Tata Sumo and Safari, BP, Rexona, Axe and Pepsi, among others.
Commenting on the agency's current leadership structure in the country, Sen says that TBWAIndia has a strong team in place that will help the agency to grow further.
"With Arindam Sengupta, who has admirably turned around our offices in the South over the last two and a half years, Subho Sengupta who came on board recently to head Delhi and now Khan, we have a very formidable branch leadership team," Sen says.
