Yang Communications, the second agency of Saints & Warriors, has won the creative duties for Hindi news channel India TV. The agency won the business on the back of a closely fought multi-agency pitch, which went on for more than a month in Delhi.
Though the size of the business could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, it is said to be substantially high.
Sources in the industry have confirmed the news to afaqs! on ground of anonymity.
In 2004, when India TV was being launched by Rajat Sharma, the creative duties were awarded to Euro RSCG. The agency then won the business sans any pitch.
The media planning and buying is managed by the channel's in-house team.
Sharma, who rose to fame as the anchor of the show 'Aap ki Adalat', set up his own production company, Independent News Service (INS) with his wife Ritu Dhawan in 1997. Next, he launched Hindi news channel India TV in April, 2004. At that time, the channel was positioned as a 'responsible news channel'.
