Nima Namchu is scheduled to join Cheil Worldwide as executive creative director (ECD). Namchu, ECD at Contract Advertising's Delhi office, is currently serving his notice period at the organisation.
Senior sources close to the development have confirmed the news to afaqs!, on ground of anonymity.
Namchu, who has more than 15 years of experience, began his career with Saatchi & Saatchi (then Sista's) Delhi in 1993 as copywriter. After a year, he moved to TBWA/India (then Anthem) Delhi. He joined the agency as senior copywriter and worked there for three years. Next, in 1997, he moved to Leo Burnett as associate creative director.
After two years at the agency, he switched to Capital Advertising as creative director and vice-president. At Capital, he had a long stint of five years and then, in 2004, moved to McCann Erickson as creative director.
After working with McCann Erickson for three years, Namchu took a sabbatical for a few months, and then joined Publicis as senior creative director. In 2008, he moved to Contract Advertising's Delhi office as executive creative director.
Namchu has worked on brands such as Dominos, Spice Jet, HP, Aviva Life Insurance, LG, Reebok, Perfetti, Maruti Suzuki (corporate), Dabur, Sony (colour TVs and audio systems), Indian Oil Corporation, MasterCard, Microsoft, Virgin Atlantic and General Motors.
