Upputuru, NCD, Publicis had joined the agency in 2007.
Emmanuel Upputuru, national creative director, Publicis has decided to quit the agency. It is learnt that he has not decided on his future destination and plans to take some time out from work before taking up any new responsibilities.
Upputuru joined Publicis in 2007 and has worked for more than four years with Hemant Misra, CEO, Publicis India. He was responsible for steering the creative function of the agency.
Earlier, Upputuru was senior creative director at Ogilvy & Mather, Delhi.
He has about 16 years of experience in the advertising business. After completing post graduation in Political Science, he started his career with Contract Advertising. He has worked at agencies such as Contract, Leo Burnett and McCann Erickson. During his career, he has handled brands such as Shell, Dabur, Nokia, Mother Dairy, Gillette, Limca, Sprite, Motorola, Maruti and American Express.
He joined O&M in 2002, following which he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi in 2003. He moved back to O&M Delhi in 2005, from where he shifted to Publicis India in 2007.
Upputuru has two Cannes Lions and five ABBYs to his credit, apart from one bronze at AdFest Bangkok. He was also invited as a judge to the London International Awards (LIA) 2007.
