The business will be managed by the agency's Mumbai office.
Luxury hotel brand Renaissance has handed over its creative mandate to Onads Communications. The business will be managed out of the agency's Mumbai office. The immediate mandate is to look after the creative duties of the group's Powai property for its upcoming campaigns and to promote the hotel as a weekend destination.
Incidentally, Onads Communications had also won the mandate for JW Marriott towards the end of February. JW Marriott and Renaissance belong to the same parent company, Marriott International. The chain is a well-known brand across the globe and has hotels at places such as Shanghai, Phuket, London, Dubai, Cairo, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
Besides JW Marriott and Renaissance, the group also has brands such as Ritz-Carlton, AC Hotels, Courtyard, Spring Hill Suites, TownePlace Suites and Fairefield under its umbrella.
While the ad spend for the upcoming campaign could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, it is learnt that the brand will exploit media platforms such as print, outdoor and radio. The advertising will primarily include local communication and contact programmes with the brand's customers and clients.
Confirming the news to afaqs!, Jignesh Maniar, founder, Onads Communications, says, "The client liked the work that we presented on JW Marriot. It asked for our ideas for Renaissance, too, which it liked and that is how we won this business, within the same group."
Prior to Onads Communications, White was managing the duties for Renaissance.
For the record, Onads Communications was launched by Maniar in 2008.
Recently, Marriott International was in the news on afaqs! for having launched a mobile application for iPhone and Android devices for the Indian market. The objective was to simplify travel for time-crunched travellers. The free app allows users to avail details of nearby hotels, book rooms and check their upcoming reservations.
