Dhiren Amin has joined McCann Erickson as group planning director. His mandate is to head the planning function for the agency's Mumbai office. He will report to Loveleen Raina, senior vice-president and general manager, McCann Erickson.
Amin moves in from Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) India, where he was brand partner at BBH's Mumbai office.
On Amin's appointment, Prasoon Joshi, executive chairman and CEO, McCann Worldgroup India and president, South Asia says, "Amin is passionate and is driven by sharp intellect. I am positive he will be a great asset to the strategic capabilities of McCann."
Amin is a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from Mumbai University. After completing MBA from Utah State University in 2004, he joined AC Nielsen as a client services executive. After a brief stint with the market research firm, Amin moved on to join Euro RSCG India as strategic planning director. At Euro RSCG, he was inducted to the agency's APAC strategic council and worked on accounts such as Sony Entertainment Television, Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Radio One, HDFC Bank, Emirates and Grand Hyatt.
In August 2009, he joined BBH India as brand partner and played the role of a senior planner at the agency. At BBH, he worked on brands such as Vaseline, Lakme Beauty Salon, World Gold Council and Movies Now.
