The size of the business is said to be in the range of Rs 20-25 crore.
Senior sources in the company have confirmed the news to afaqs!, on conditions of anonymity.
Euro RSCG is the incumbent agency on the business, which it won in 2007, through a multi-agency pitch. The last round of the pitch included Draftfcb Ulka, Rediffusion-Y&R, and Euro. The company, at the time, had said that it would spend Rs 15-20 crore on offline media -- television, print, below the line activities, and a bit of outdoor (around the airport vicinity).
Prior to Euro, the account was handled by Leo Burnett, which bagged the business in 2005.
Meanwhile, in March 2011, Mediacom won the media duties of Makemytrip.com, following a multi-agency pitch called in February 2011. The travel portal had called for a media pitch, as it wanted to take the company's new communication strategy ahead after its initial public offering (IPO). The size of the media business is about Rs 30 crore. Prior to that, Starcom Worldwide, had worked on the account for five years.
