While Harjot Singh Narang is appointed head of Dentsu Marcom's Delhi branch, Amit Wadhwa has been signed up for senior vice-president, Dentsu Creative Impact.
Continuing with its series of senior-level appointments, Dentsu India has made two more key appointments. The group has hired Harjot Singh Narang as head of the Delhi branch of Dentsu Marcom, while Amit Wadhwa has been appointed as senior vice-president of Dentsu Creative Impact.
Both Narang and Wadhwa were working at Leo Burnett as business unit heads, and handled different businesses at the agency.
Commenting on the new appointments, Rohit Ohri, executive chairperson, Dentsu India, in an official communiqué, says, "We are strengthening our teams across our agencies. Seasoned professionals such as Narang and Wadhwa bring on board diverse category knowledge, strong brand capability and a passion for creative excellence."
In his new role, Narang will be branch head for Delhi, and will be help grow the client base. At Dentsu Creative Impact, Wadhwa's key priority will be to partner the account management, creative, and planning teams to deliver high quality creatives across brands.
An Economics major from Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University, and a management post-graduate from IMI Delhi, Narang spent the first three years of his career in garment export, printing, and travel industries. He then shifted to advertising and over the next 14 years, worked with agencies such as Ogilvy India, JWT and Leo Burnett in various capacities in account management.
Some of the brands he has worked on include Coca-Cola India, PepsiCo India (flavoured beverages and foods divisions), GSK, Uninor, Hutch, Nokia, SBI Life Insurance, Radio Today, Nikon India, Sony India, Samsung India, and Frito-Lay India. As the business unit head at Leo Burnett, Narang was responsible for the overall operations and a team of 60 people, in four offices across the country.
Amit Wadhwa started his career in marketing communications with Pathfinders (the research wing of Lowe) in Mumbai. Later, he relocated to Delhi and moved on to mainstream advertising. Wadhwa has worked in various agencies including Lowe, Mudra, Bates (then Enterprise Nexus), JWT and Leo Burnett. Some of the key brands that he has worked on are Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Mirinda, Slice, Bacardi, Joyco Confectionary, Timejobs.com, Timematri.com, Kohler and The Indian Express.
As business unit head at Leo Burnett, he handled businesses such as Bacardi, Kohler, The Indian Express and Coke Studio.
