Koustuv Chatterjee, popularly known as Kosti, will join LG Ad as creative partner. Chatterjee fills in the space left vacant by Dipansu Saha, who put in his papers at the agency earlier this month.
In his new role, Chatterjee will head the creative department at LG Ad, and will work with Nitin Makdani, business head, LG Ad.
Speaking about the appointment, Makdani says, "Chatterjee will work to further consolidate the LG business, in addition to the new businesses that GIIR Communications will scout for."
Chatterjee, who was earlier creative partner at Ogilvy, Kolkata, has about 14 years of experience in the industry. He started his career in 1998 as junior copywriter with Equus Red Cell in Kolkata. In 1999, he moved to McCann Erickson, Kolkata, as copywriter. In 2000, he joined Ogilvy Kolkata as copy supervisor. In 2002, he shifted based to New Delhi and joined Lowe and Partner as creative supervisor. After a short stint of six months, he joined Leo Burnett's Delhi branch as creative group head. Subsequently, he moved to Mudra as associate creative director in 2006.
After a stint of 10 months at the agency, he joined JWT as creative director, where he worked for about a year. Next, he joined Pickle Lintas, Delhi, as group creative director. After spending six months at the agency, he decided to return to Kolkata and joined Ogilvy.
