Tandon will replace Sanjeev Bhargava, who recently joined JWT Delhi as managing partner, replacing Rohit Ohri.
Draftfcb Ulka announced the appointment of Sanjay Tandon as chief operating officer of its Delhi operations. He will report to Arvind Wable, executive director and chief executive officer, Draftfcb Ulka. Earlier, Tandon was senior vice-president at the Delhi office of the agency and handled the entire Tata Docomo business.
Elated on taking the new role, Tandon says, "It's a special feeling to be entrusted with leading a gold standard team at Draftfcb Ulka Delhi. Tandon has spent more than 10 years in the agency. A graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi, and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, he started his career and spent the first few years of his professional life in sales and marketing, before joining FCB Ulka in 1997. He spent the next seven years handling major accounts such as LML, HP, Samsung, Mother Dairy and British Airways, and rose to the position of client servicing director.
Subsequently, he took up assignments at Bates as vice-president and then at JWT, where he led the business of Nokia, Yamaha and PepsiCo (Flavours and Juices) respectively.
Tandon returned to Draftfcb Ulka in 2009 and was handed over the responsibility to lead the Tata Docomo business.
