Kamble moves in from BBDO Worldwide New York and will lead the creative function.
Raj Kamble is back home. After spending more than a decade in the US with agencies such as BBDO and Lowe, Kamble is back in the country as the fourth managing partner of BBH India and will lead the creative function for the agency. Earlier, Kamble was senior vice-president and creative director, global P&G and Gillette businesses, BBDO Worldwide New York.
Kamble is slated to take on his new role in May, and will work along with managing partners Subhash Kamath, Partha Sinha and Paul Ward. Ward, as afaqs! had reported last month, moved in from the agency's Singapore office.
Following Priti Nair's exit, Russell Barrett has been managing the creative function at the agency.
In his career so far, Kamble has worked in Mumbai, London and New York, and has won multiple awards including Clios, Cannes, D&AD and The One Show.
Kamble conveys in an official communiqué, "BBH doesn't just do great award-winning work but builds brands, and I believe it's the only agency in the world that has done it consistently over the last 20 years."
He adds, "There is substantial strategic thinking behind every single campaign and I personally believe in that approach."
Sir John Hegarty, worldwide creative director, BBH Group, says, "Kamble is not just a great creative who thinks outside the box. He has spent 10 years living outside the box. He excites me because he's talented, enthusiastic and hungry. I think he will make BBH better, just as, hopefully, we'll do the same for him."
