Radio City and Vodafone organised the 'Dekho Visarjan Aasman Se' contest where lucky winners get a phenomenal aerial experience of the Ganesh Visarjan
This year - again - a handful of devotees will get a chance to get 'a view from the top'. Radio City 91.1 FM and telecom operator Vodafone have once again joined hands to bring 'Dekho Visarjan Aasman Se' on the occasion of Ganeshotsav, where they give a few winners a helicopter ride and a chance of 'darshan' from the skies.
The activity has been done in two legs, where about 20 winners won the first leg and enjoyed some of the 'Visarjan' views from the sky. The second leg will have winners enjoying the same today - the final day of the Ganpati puja celebration.
Vodafone customers who had a Ganesha caller tune playing on their mobile phones when the Radio City RJ called stood a chance to watch the Ganesh Visarjan from a helicopter. The RJ randomly called listeners who had registered for the competition and asked them questions based on the festival.
The Vodafone customers who answered the questions correctly won the chance to witness the Ganesh Visarjan from a helicopter. The radio station also captured the excitement live on-air during the Visarjan days.
Vodafone customers could register for the competition by sending 'GANESHA' as an SMS to the specific number,111, and also to set the Ganesha caller tune by sending the same SMS to 55655. Other gifts also included Astavinayak Darshan packages and Ganesha audio CDs for listeners.
The activity aimed to strengthen and connect with people as the city draped itself in festive hues. It met with great participation and engagement. Speaking on this unique initiative, Apurva Purohit, chief executive officer, Radio City, says, "We are truly overwhelmed by the response generated by this activity. Not only have we clocked record listenership but also strengthened our bond with the people.
"In true 'Whatte fun' style, the activity saw 20 lucky winners scour the skies and cherish each moment. We hope to continue creating such platforms with our listeners to keep them entertained."
Rohit Adya, chief executive officer, Vodafone Essar Mumbai, adds, "Dekho Visarjan Aasman Se is a unique initiative that spreads festive cheer amongst Mumbaikars and we have received an overwhelming response, rendering this a success. This will further encourage us to continue providing the best value and service experience for all our customers, where we will constantly endeavour to connect with them through such unique experiences."
