Chauhan was president, Lowe Lintas
Tarun Chauhan, president, Lowe Lintas India has moved on to join JWT Mumbai as managing partner and senior vice-president. He shall be responsible for JWT's Mumbai branch, in addition to certain other roles assigned to him across verticals in the system.
Confirming the news to afaqs!, Chauhan adds that he will assume his new role on August 23.
Colvyn Harris, chief executive officer, JWT India, tells afaqs!, "We're looking forward to Tarun coming aboard. We're looking at refreshing our talent in management across our company. After the appointment of Adrian Miller, Tarun is a welcome addition to the JWT family." Miller recently joined JWT Delhi as chief creative officer (having moved in from Saatchi & Saatchi, Malaysia and Singapore, where he was executive creative director).
Chauhan brings in more than two decades of experience in advertising. Prior to joining JWT, Chauhan was with Lowe for nine years, having joined the agency in 2001. In 2007, he was vice-president at Lowe Mumbai and went on to become the executive director.
Interestingly, it was only in May 2010 that Chauhan was promoted at Lowe; he was made the president of Lowe Lintas India, managing all businesses apart from Unilever. He was also responsible for Lintas Production (content, production, marketing and talent management) and driving new business across the group.
He has worked across brands and companies such as Bajaj Auto, Idea Cellular, ICICI, USAID and the Tata Group (Tata Tea, Tata Retail, Ginger Hotels).
This is Chauhan's second stint with JWT; before joining Lowe Lintas, he was with JWT as a part of the team that set up Thompson Connect, now integrated within JWT.
