NewsX comes out with one of the most candid interviews on Kashmir of recent times in "In conversation with Saeed Naqvi". One of the three special interlocutors on Kashmir appointed by the Government of India, and Consulting Editor of Times of India, Dilip Padgaonkar while talking about the volatile situation maintained, that Kashmir is a mixed problem, of complex geo-political circumstances, and political will.
While many have been questioning the mandate of the Central interlocutors on Jammu & Kashmir and many more have been sceptical on the boundaries that the interlocutors have to abide by while doing their job, Dilip Padgaonkar speaking exclusively to NewsX Saeed Naqvi, said that there are no red lines for them and that this has been made clear in various meetings with Home Minister, The Prime Minister & the Chairperson of UPA.
In a scathing attack on Jammu & Kashmir administration, Dilip Padgaonkar said that Omar Abdullah has to deal with an administration that is inefficient and insensitive. He also quoted instances to show discrepancies between the promised word to the people of the region and the actual practice with regard to Kashmir.
Perhaps in the most startling of conversation, Mr Padgaonkar said that the Kashmiri Pandits are still being fooled, and not even 30% of the Rs 6000 Cr assistance to the State by the Center was used. When asked by Saeed Naqvi on whether the Pandits were driven out of the State by extremists, or the departure were facilitated by the then Governor, the veteran journalist stated that it was "partially this, and partially that".
Catch all this and more in an exclusive interview with Saeed Naqvi today all through on News X with a special telecast of the interview at 930pm. Only on NewsX.
Show Timing: 16th December, 2010, 9:30 pm.
