Bhojpuri General Entertainment Channel Mahuaa TV is all set to launch the third season of its superhit singing reality show ‘Sur Sangram’ on October 25th, 2013. Corresponding to the success of the first two seasons, this non-fiction property of Mahuaa will be produced by Mahuaa and Gajendra Singh of Saaibaba Telefilms.
Ground auditions have been held in 11 cities across U.P., Bihar and Jharkhand, namely- Varanasi, Baliya, Gorakhpur, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur, culminating in a Mega-Audition in NOIDA. Out of the thousands who have auditioned, 12 contestants will take the stage for the Gala rounds, wherein eliminations will happen one-by-one and finally one contestant will be declared winner.
‘Sur Sangram Season 3’ will be hosted by Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan, who has been the highlight in hundreds of Hindi and Bhojpuri films. On the judges’ panel will be Indian folk singer Malini Awasthi (renowned in Hindustani Classical music, and known for singing in several Indian languages) and artist Kalpana Patowary, who has made impacted a wide audience with her popularity in the Bhojpuri music industry.
The first two seasons of ‘Sur Sangram’ in 2009 and 2010 repectively, impacted the musical talent-hunt genre on Television as a whole, as the biggest success for Mahuaa TV came from the ‘Sur Sangram’- Season 1, which saw an unprecedented 68 GRP in the big ticket Grand Finale, in its 3-hour telecast (TAM: CS 4+, Bihar mkt). Both seasons have produced a mine of talent, with the winners making their presence felt in the Bhojpuri music industry as well as in the Hindi film industry. Also magnifying the grandeur still further will be the addition of participants from Jharkhand, joining those from U.P and Bihar to fight the musical ‘sangram’.

Ltd., ‘Sur Sangram Season 3’ will be bigger than the forerunning seasons, and the channel’s desire to strengthen the relationship that it has formed with them. The two blockbuster seasons of ‘Sur Sangram’ made Mahuaa a household name, as the channel became more than a part of its viewers’ lives. The famed and extraordinary stage of ‘Sur Sangram’ Season 3 will be a platform for youth aspiring to win a tougher battle of sorts and carve their niche in the industry.
