Epson, a world leader in digital imaging, has unveiled a slim and sleek entry-level A4 scanner that produces high quality scanned images and documents with little hassle. Packed with features aimed at enhancing the scanning process, the Epson Perfection V30 scanner is especially ideal for homes and small offices.

Relatively light at 2.2 kilograms and measuring just 41mm in height, the Epson Perfection V30 scanner boasts an optical resolution of 4800dpi and 48-bit colour depth. As the original colour and details of every scanned image will be accurately captured and reproduced, the Epson Perfection V30 is certainly suited for both document and photo scanning.

Instant and efficient scanning with no hassle

The Epson Perfection V30 scanner incorporates the energy-efficient ReadyScan LED Technology. The white light LED technology is environmentally friendly as the ReadyScan LEDs contain no mercury, have low power consumption and heat dissipation and virtually no warm up time.

Designed to make high quality photo and document scanning easy, the Epson Perfection V30 scanner also features four customisable one-touch buttons increasing productivity for high quality document and photo scanning. Preset with Copy, Start, Scan-to-Email, and Scan-to-PDF functions for most common scanning tasks, users may customise these buttons through Epson Event Manager to suit personal preferences.

Image enhancement with easy-to-use software

A great combination of power, simplicity and flexibility, the scanner also comes with Epson Scan v3.5, an easy-to-use photo and document editing software that includes several enhancement features.

One such feature is the Colour Restoration technology that allows users to restore faded photographs to their original colours effortlessly – simply with the click of a mouse! At the same time, the Dust Removal Tools feature enhances the quality of the image by automatically detecting and removing dust specks and scratches from scanned photographs.

Also included in the Epson Scan v3.5 software is the Backlight Correction function that analyses the image histogram to identify any backlight conditions in the photograph and adjusts the brightness, sharpness and colour balance of each image – providing users with the best quality image possible. Users who frequently scan text documents will certainly welcome the Text Enhancement feature that helps to improve the readability of the scanned text by removing unwanted shadows on the images.

Easy digitalisation of documents

The Epson Perfection V30 scanner comes with a set of bundled software that provides for easy digitalisation of documents. With the Newsoft MaxReader 4.5 Lt Optical Character Recognition software, users can easily convert scanned documents containing English and Chinese languages (both simplified and traditional) into editable text format – thus reducing the hassle of manual retyping for small businesses and home users.

Users can also edit, enhance and add creative effects to their scanned photos with ArcSoft MediaImpression 1, an application that also allows them to share their media files in various ways (including through simple email attachments).

High compression PDF saving option

Among the new features offered by the Epson Perfection V30 scanner is the high compression PDF saving option that allows users to save the scanned documents in their smallest size. A much-needed feature for users who often face difficulties in sending PDF attachments via emails, it is noteworthy that the high compression PDF saving option does not compromise the text readability of the scanned document!
