Published by the ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (the International Electro technical Commission), this standard is the revised and enhanced version of the British Standard: BS 7799:2000 and complements the ISO 17799 'code of practice'.

It helps identify, manage and minimize the range of threats that information is subject to. ISO 27001 directives have set requirements to define, implement, improvise and monitor documented information security management aligned to the triad of confidentiality, integrity and availability.
