Pyaar Actually highlights conventional topics such as feminism, old-age romance, adoption, consent, remarriage and step-parenting but have been addressed in contemporary fashion.

Richa Singh, managing director, India, Diamond Producers Association said, “DPA believes that love has always has been viewed through a myopic lens – there’s a lot more to it than what’s been depicted in popular culture. ‘Pyaar Actually’ is poetic in expressing how every relationship has its real and rare moments, and that we need to cherish them with something just as real and rare – a billion-year-old natural diamond.”

The series features powerful and versatile star cast including Bhumi Pendekar, Mandira Bedi, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Saurabh Shukla, and Dino Morea and introduces exciting new talents Anya Singh and Tahir Bhasin.

Commenting on the initiative, Karthik Nagarajan, chief content officer, Wavemaker India said, “Real is Rare is one of the finest campaigns released in the recent times and we thought the short film route to take the thread ahead was the most impactful way ahead The journey of bringing this to life with handpicked creators and partners, who helped create this wonderful piece of content was exciting. We are lucky to have a client like DPA who is willing to push the boundaries on digital-first content, that addresses business challenges”.

It’s the rare moments that make relationships stronger, and Pyaar Actually recognises that to offer a new take on love down the ages. It focuses also on the similarities between precious natural diamonds and relationships – such as endurance, strength and rarity.

Anya Singh, actor from the movie #Feels said “I am very happy and proud to be associated with Pyaar Actually. I love the character, Sukanya, I play in my film. I could relate to her so much. She is subtle yet fashionable, she is sweet yet bold. One thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the way I was styled for this character. It was very close to my personal sense of style; comfortable when outdoors and delicate dresses, Diamonds for the right occasion! But most importantly, I am sure the unconventional storyline will help break stereotypes and give out a message that is real and relatable to so many people in our society.”

Tahir Bhasin, actor from the movie #Feels said: “I really resonated with the character I am playing in Pyaar Actually. He reminds me of myself, and is a very relatable boy-next-door who finds humour in everyday life. Plus I got the chance to be a part of a cast that has such stalwart names attached to it, and it was an opportunity I just couldn’t let go of. I do feel that initiatives like Pyaar Actually should be encouraged as we forget to celebrate and find meaning in the real, rare everyday moments of life and this series shows us how to do this.”
