Sahil Chopra, Founder & CEO, iCubesWire
Sahil Chopra is a dynamic entrepreneur and business leader who brings nearly two decades of business and marketing expertise to his role as founder and CEO of iCubesWire. Here’s a little sneak peek into his work day, leadership mantra, and advice to young professionals.
The best part of my job is
Running iCubesWire for 14 years now, my job has changed many curves as the Founder & CEO. The best part though has been the fact that I’ve got to work with some amazing people. It’s the faith and support which have allowed me to be at peace and design things that have been instrumental to growth.
My leadership mantra
Defining goals and letting the leaders then take charge. I don’t believe in micromanagement but do look at things and goals from a macro level. At the same time, I strongly believe in supporting my leaders and helping them align or realign funnels to achieve goals.
My career-defining moment
My career-defining moment was in 2010 when the idea of starting iCubesWire hit me, and we started building the initial blocks. We had Myntra and Snapdeal as our first 2 customers, and onboarding them was truly special. We had the first payment cheque from Myntra with us and didn’t have an operational bank account; that was a challenge I’ll never forget.
My advice to young professionals
Please look at life, career, and goals from a long-term standpoint. Please don’t look at shortcuts and have patience and faith. I see today’s young people as terribly impatient and judgmental. I feel the tinder-blinkit generation has very little patience with their professional life. Any beautiful thing takes time and patience to build.
How I recharge on weekends
My weekends are largely spent around my son, golf, and books. I have a bunch of plans every weekend to execute, ranging from swimming, visiting farms, cooking, reading with my 13-year-old son. I am an avid golfer, so a round of golf is also a mandate over the weekend. Reading a nice book, and/or writing something meaningful is a weekend ritual.
A recent ad campaign I liked
The recent ad campaigns ran by Dream11. The campaigns were well-drafted and evoked very high engagement.
