IndiGo has appointed Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as the chief operating officer, subject to regulatory approvals. In his role, Prock-Schauer will be responsible for operational aspects of IndiGo such as flight operations, maintenance and engineering and inflight services directly as well as airport operations and operations control centre. He will be reporting to Aditya Ghosh, president and whole- time director, IndiGo and will be based in India.

On the new appointment, Ghosh, president and whole-time director, IndiGo, says in a press note, “We are delighted to welcome Schauer to the IndiGo family. Prock-Schauer is a graduate from the University of Economics, Vienna. He is an experienced international executive having a total professional experience of over 36 years. Previously, he has worked with Austrian Airlines, Jet Airways (India), British Midland International, Air Berlin (Germany/ UK) and Go Air (India).
