UpGrad appoints Vivek Kumar as president - Consumer Business Revenue

UpGrad, an online education company founded by Ronnie Screwvala and Mayank Kumar, has appointed Vivek Kumar as the president, consumer business revenue. Kumar, who has joined as the B2C Head – UpGrad, will overlook all B2C revenue generations and expansion in global markets.

Vivek KumarAn IIM Ahmedabad graduate (1999), Vivek comes with extensive experience in setting and scaling up education businesses in India and South East Asia. His last stint was Manipal Global Education leading their global expansion and digital transformation.

Speaking about his new role Vivek says, “Technology is in constant flux, upskilling is an essential tool to keep up to date with the latest trends and developments to remain relevant. The aim is to enhance the Ed-tech eco-system and UpGrad is doing that magnificently. I am proud to get associated with the fastest growing Ed-tech company.”

With an aim to scale up B2C segment, Ronnie Screwvala and Mayank Kumar, in a joint statement says, “We are delighted to have (Vivek) Kumar on board with us. His experience and perspective will be vital for us. We are confident that he will successfully lead our operations in the B2C segment.”

Vivek will contribute by scaling up the revenues by putting in rigorous sales processes leveraging technology. His experience will aid in enhanced and intensive coverage in the global market. He will focus on expanding product offering for the Indian market and scaling operations and identifying opportunities to expand globally. He believes in working as a team and therefore, his aim will be to work with the team to build long-term competitive advantages which will help in effective learning.
